Job Title:                 Class II/ HGV 2 Multi Drop Delivery Driver

Location:                 Woolwich, SE London

Salary:                     £30,000 OTE (Includes Basic salary + Comms + Bonus)

Duration:                 Full Time permanent

Start Date:              ASAP

My client, the UK’s largest distributor of its kind, are looking for a Class 2 Delivery Driver to join the team, working out of the Woolwich depot

Applicants must have a Class 2 license, and have previous experience of  UK multi-drop driving, at least 20 deliveries per day. It is also required that applicants have, or have applied for a digital Tachograph card.

HGV Licenses should have a maximum of 6 points

Applicants must note that much heavy lifting is involved, and that this is a physically demanding job. Applicants must also have excellent customer service skills, and be prepared to work towards distribution deadlines.

In addition to the base salary, the company also pay a very generous commission structure, bonus scheme, yearly bonus, route completion bonus and no accident bonus. The successful applicant can also opt into the company pension & healthcare scheme.

20 days holiday per year PLUS bank holidays. The company operate a Christmas shutdown.

Salary around £30,000 OTE. The breakdown of base salary v’s commission will be discussed with potential applicants on receipt of cv.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities of Role

  • To generate leads and follow up with potential customers
  • To up sell products as required
  • To achieve monthly distribution goals
  • To organise the delivery notes into the most cost effective / time saving route.
  • To load vehicle on a daily basis with the correct amount of product.
  • To complete all deliveries as instructed on the delivery note.
  • To collect all empty containers at customer sites.
  • To make sure the delivery note is signed, dated and empties recorded, returning this back to the Route Operations Manager on a daily basis.
  • To collect on demand, units from prospective customer sites.
  • To behave, at all times, in a responsible, polite and professional manner, acting as an ambassador for the company
  • To  secure  and maintain client loyalty through building good customer relations
  • To anticipate customer needs and respond promptly to any special service requests
  • To arrive at work wearing the correct uniform, as provided by the Company, making sure it is clean and tidy.
  • To drive in a considerate manner, keeping vehicle to company standard ready for weekly vehicle inspection.
  • To alter route, when necessary, to accommodate urgent deliveries.
  • Report back to the office any customer address changes and any misuse of water cooler equipment.
